I flew unpainted for about 14 months. This picture was taken just before the first flight in April 1997. The airplane was completed at this hangar tucked in behind a Cessna 421.
Just home from the paint shop. The first bugs were already on the paint at this time. It's been a "battle of the bugs" ever since. I use an automotive quick detail spray that works great.
My hangar bay is visible at the left. I am very fortunate to have a square bay all to myself. Not a lot of room though. The door is 22' wide and my wings are 23'. That means a little pirouette to get the airplane in and out. Dancing with my girl?
